LSU, USC, Alabama, Oregon, West VA. Playoff system? = simple - SIX TEAMS (Top 5 teams from major conferences ... with no more than 2 teams from any one conference ... PLUS 1 X independent/ non-major inclusion = First (of 3) rounds #1 vs. #2 ... #3 vs. #6 ... #4 vs. #5. The winners of #s 3- 6 play each other in the Second Round. The winners of the Second Round have the honor of playing the winner of #1 vs. #2 in the National Championship. Think pitting #1 vs. #2 this early ruins "the surprise"?! The surprise, my friends, was a scoreless LSU in the Championship Game!
