From the article: The Top 10 Coaches in College Football
Florida's Urban Meyer was recently awarded with a six-year contract extension that will pay him about $4 million a year. That deal makes Meyer among the highest paid coaches in the country.
But as you've already seen, in my opinion at least, Meyer still isn't the best coach in the country. That honor instead goes to USC's Pete Carroll, who has led the Trojans to an unprecedented run of success.
Of course, I'm sure you all don't agree with me. So here's your chance to share your picks for the top 10 coaches in the country.

Coach-What decade????
- Asking who is greatest to be fair to all the coaches, has to have a definition...If you ask what coach is greatest then define the decade....I think that the greatest coach of the 2000's is Urban Meyer...I can make that comment because I am a Gator and I watch every game and I will hazard a guess that anyone else does not...His teams are prepared-They play exciting football and nobody can beat us other than rarely! Come on...Win 2 National Championships in his first 4 years in the SEC??? and go 13-1 the year he does not win it???? with a spread offense designed around the talent..and that offense was not going to work in the SEC....Remember those lame predictions?.... If you are looking at the 90's Steve Spurrier who took over in 1991 and Took the SEC by storm and took the old 13-10 SEC games and turned them into 55-7 routs!!!! Go Gators..... Want a prediction??? Florida 2010 13-1 and National Champs again...OK I have laid my soul out there...lets chack back in January

Not Even Close
- No other school is even close to USC? That's a tough statement to back up. Florida, LSU and Alabama as well as Ohio State might challenge that statement. Texas could have an argument too, and they beat USC in a national championship game. Remember, with all it's success, USC has only won one National Championship game in the Carroll years. They might be the best, but the fact is, if they are, whoever is second is "close."

Leaving Beamer out is Crazy!
- Tressel and Stoops need to be lower in my opinion. They took over historic powerhouses... They are great coaches, but not 3 & 5. Bobby Bowden needs to be on the list as well as Frank Beamer if for nothing other than taking unknown football programs and turning them into perennial contenders. Seriously... Before Beamer, a good season for Virginia Tech was defined by beating Radford and/or VMI (Virginia Military Institute). I would remove Fitzgerald (If he takes Northwestern to the Rosebowl in a few years like you say... then consider him in the top 10)
