In 2006, Hawaii's Colt Brennan threw an incredible 58 touchdown passes, guiding the Warriors to an 11-3 record along the way. Brennan's effort broke the season touchdown pass mark previously held by Houston's David Klinger, who threw 54 in 1990.

But if recent history is any indication, Brennan's record may not be safe for long. In fact, during the 2008 season, five quarterbacks threw at least 44 touchdown passes, including Heisman winner Sam Bradford of Oklahoma, who threw 50.

Below is a list of all of the quarterbacks who have thrown at least 40 touchdown passes in a season.
