It’s only been around for a couple of decades, and it’s gone through a few name changes, but the Champs Sports Bowl (as it’s now called) is slowly establishing itself as a big event on college football’s bowl calendar.

The game was founded in 1990 as the Blockbuster Bowl. Its name was later changed to both the CarQuest Bowl and the MicronPC Bowl. Champs Sports has been the game’s name sponsor since 2004.

The game is played each December in Orlando, Florida, and currently matches teams from the ACC and Big East. Notre Dame can also be selected.
