College football is a one-league sport, right?
And that one league is the mighty SEC, right?
Well, yes. Yes two both of those questions. I mean, the SEC's dominance of the game is, at this point, utterly undeniable. Mike Slive's superconference really is the best--home to the best players, the best fans and, yes, the nation's very best team, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
But here's the thing about the Tide: This team is so good that, well, it might even be too good for the SEC. Though we are only three weeks into this 2012 season, it seems to me that, not only is college football a one-league sport, it's also a one-team sport.
Which is to say the following: Right now, there is Alabama. And then there is everybody else.
It's a situation we look at more closely right here, in this week's edition of Sunday Morning Observations.
