War Eagle at Auburn University

According to Auburn fans, at least, the legend of the War Eagle can be traced all the way back to 1892, on the day of the first-ever Auburn-Georgia game, when a Civil War veteran brought along a pet eagle to root on Auburn. The story may or may not be true. But this much is certain: The pre-game flight of War Eagle at Jordan-Hare Stadium is one of the great sights in college football.
