No. 1: Michigan Wolverines

Michigan's maize-and-blue unis are eye-catching in their own right. But it's those winged helmets, of course, that make Michigan's uniforms famous. The stripes were the brainchild of coach Fritz Chrisler, who added them to his team's helmets in 1938. They've remained ever since.
