The Lowdown:
Though he played quarterback during his senior season in high school, colleges around the country see Rueben Randle as a potential superstar wide receiver. It's easy to see why. At 6-3, Randle is taller than the average college cornerback, and his 4.5 speed will be more than adequate, no matter where he decides to play his college ball.
He's also got great instincts. While playing quarterback this year cost him reps at wideout, the fact that his coaches trusted him to run the offense shows that Randle is more than just a great athlete. He also really understands the game.
The Numbers:
Randle caught just 14 passes during his entire sophomore season. But even then, his talent was obvious: Of those 14 catches, seven went for touchdowns. The next season, Randle exploded. In a sensational junior campaign, he caught 55 passes for 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns and added three more touchdowns on punt returns.
Even still, he was moved to quarterback for his senior yearand handled the transition just fine. Randle threw for 2,461 yards and 20 touchdowns and added another 683 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. On film, the kid looks electric. He's deadly in the open field.
