Coach Pete Carroll has built a college football powerhouse in Los Angeles, turning USC into what some believe is college football’s top program.

The Trojans have been dominant for pretty much the entirety of Carroll’s tenure, but they may have reached their peak between 2003 and 2005, when, for a period of nearly two years, they held the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press Top 25. Their 33 weeks atop the AP poll is the longest streak in college football history—by a wide margin.

Below is a list of the longest streaks (of at least 15 games or longer) atop the AP poll in college football history.

USC: 33 weeks, Dec. 8, 2003 to Dec. 4, 2005
Miami (Fla.): 20 weeks, Oct. 14, 2001 to oct. 28, 2002
Notre Dame: 19 weeks, Nov. 1, 1988 to nov. 21, 1989
USC: 17 weeks, Sept. 12, 1972 to sept. 25, 1973
Florida State: 16 weeks, Aug. 30, 1999 to Jan. 5, 2000
Army: 15 weeks, Oct. 31, 1944 to Dec. 4, 1945
Nebraska: 15 weeks, Jan. 1, 1971 to Jan. 4, 1972
