The Butkus Award

James Laurinaitis

Ohio State's James Laurinaitis captured the Butkus Award in 2007. He's a favorite to win it again in 2008.

The Butkus Award has been given each year since 1985 to the best linebacker in college football. The award is named in honor of Dick Butkus, an NFL Hall of Famer who is considered by most experts the finest linebacker to ever play the game.
