The Bronko Nagurski Award

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy has been presented since 1993 to the most valuable defensive player in college football. The award is handed out by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America.

It is named in honor of Bronko Nagurski, a two-way All-American lineman at the University of Minnesota who later enjoyed a Hall of Fame career with the Chicago Bears.
