Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award

Alabama's Nick Saban won the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award in 2008.

The Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award is given each year to the best coaches in each of college football's four divisions. The award was created to recognize the coaches who best display "sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility, and excellence on and off the field."

The award was first given in 2006 to Rutgers' Greg Schiano. Starting in 2007, the award was also given to coaches in college football's Football Championship Subdivision, Division II and Division III.
