College football nation has spoken.
The results of the first-ever About.com Readers Choice Awards for college football are in, and we're pleased today to announce the winners in our three categories this year: Best College Football Blog, Best College Football Podcast and Best College Football Twitter account.
Best College Football Podcast/Radio Show: The Solid Verbal
In the year's biggest upset, independent podcast pioneers Dan Rubenstein and Ty Hildenbrandt prevailed over the ESPNU College Football Podcast (hosted by Ivan Maisel and the great Beano Cook) and the Southern football powerhouse that is the Paul Finebaum Radio Show.
The Solid Verbal may not (yet) reach as many listeners as Maisel or Finebaum, but the show certainly has a cult following. And it's not hard to figure out why: It is consistently entertaining and informative, and while other podcasts go into hiding in the offeason, Rubenstein and Hildenbrandt just keep cranking out their show, like clockwork, twice a week.
These guys know their stuff and bring in some great guests, too. The Solid Verbal, simply, is must-listen for any true college football fanatic.
You can check out Ty and Dan's outstanding work here.
Best College Football Blog: California Golden Blogs
The guys over at California Golden Blogs are spending an awful lot of time lately writing about basketball (gasp), but neither I nor our About.com readers seem to be holding that against them.
And with good reason: California Golden Blogs is one of the best blogs in the business.
Comprehensive, entertaining and super-focused on all things Cal, the site is an invaluable resource not only for Bears fans, but college football fans in general.

Best College Football Twitter Account: Adam Kramer (@KegsNEggs)
What's it take to be the best Tweep in college football? Well, two things: Wit. And a commitment to the cause.
Our winner in this category, Adam Kramer (better known to the college football world as @KegsNEggs) certainly has both. Kramer's one-liners make for entertaining (and insightful) reading during both the season and off-season, and like most great Tweeps, he's incredibly prolific. As of this writing, in fact, he had sent out 18,895 tweets, most of them having nothing to do with his as-of-late troubled alma mater, the University of Iowa.
Kramer might be a Hawkeye alum, you see, but he offers a truly universal perspective on college football.
You can follow him on Twitter here.
Congrats to all of our winners and congrats also to all of our finalists. For more information about this year's awards--including the winners of countless other categories--check out the About.com Readers Choice Awards page here.
